The Association History

Since 1962 Mrs Maria Daminelli Marini, who was a member of Legion of Mary, of the Catholic Church, in Pato Branco, started to feel bad, with health problems and the doctors couldn't discover her illness. Sometimes she sat in front of her house and cry without know why. Some people indicated the Spiritist Association as the solution to her illness. Mrs Maria listened to the advices and looked for help. Two moths after going to the Light and Charity Spiritist Association, in Pato Branco, she, with all her calmness,attended people that looked for her help.

Fearing to go to hell, because she was catholic, she talked to the Friar Sérgio and Friar Policarpo, and they said that her mission now was in the Spiritist Association and not at Church anymore. These two friars were honest and charitable with Mrs Maria, because he didn't hide the real meaning of her mission. She founded in her allotment the Dr. Adolfo Bezerra de Menezes Spiritist Association, and she developed activities with a doctrine's worker, known as Brother Delfino.

The Dr. Adolfo Bezerra de Menezes Spiritist Association, was founded in 1965 and legitimated in 1972. It always attend hundreds of people with every kind of problems. And never charge for the works following the idea: "Give for nothing what God give you for nothing".

Every year the activities always follow the postulates of the spiritist doctrine of Allan Kardec, Chico Xavier, Yvonne Pereira, Bezerra de Menezes, Leon Denis and others.

Nowadays it attends more than one hundred fifty people a month, from everywhere in the region, and more than seventy mediums who frequent regularly in the association.

She was born in Nova Veneza, in the municipality of Criciúma – SC – Brazil on December 27th of 1923. She married very young and in the decade of 1940 with her relatives move to Porto Santana, in the edge of Iguaçu's river. She bought 12.1 hectares of land and she had to pay it twice and even she was driven out of her lands. She arrived in Pato Branco, where she lived in the country during some years, and after she moved near the place where nowadays is located the town bus station.

Mrs Maria's family was live in Itabira Street, after Jaciretã Street and in the end of Tupinambá Street, Bancários district, where she lived until her death on May 21st of 2003.

After a hard period in her live, with illness and family problems she was invited to join the works in the Spiritist Association as solution for her situation. In a short time she was already working with naturality, because her condition of a medium grows and she was educated very fast. After a period of two years in the Light and Charity Spiritist Association, Dr. Bezerra asked her to found her own Spiritist Association, and she did it quickness. With Irmão Delfino and other friends, they founded the Dr. Adolfo Bezerra de Menezes Spiritist Association, and its name is an honor of the guide spirit of Brother Delfino and Mrs Maria: Dr. Bezerra.

Mrs Maria, as she was known in all the places, always worked in Spiritist Association with a lot of dedication and willpower. She always attended with humble and simplicity everyone who looked for her, her principal characteristics.

The history of Mrs Maria mix with the history of Dr. Adolfo Bezerra de Menezes Spiritits Association , because they always walked together in the Jesus' direction.

She became famous through her work in the association, because she always attended everyone that looked for her. She had a lot of spiritual gifts like clairvoyance, ability to listen the spirits, heal gift, premonition, she did astral trips, she knew many things about the spiritual world and people's reincarnation, so, she was admired for the other that know her very much.

She made the Dr. Adolfo Bezerra de Menezes Spiritist Association her house, her refuge, her work. She always showed happiness in her work and with the spirituality, it came from her loving heart. Each one that come to her presence were attended as a loving son, a brother. Her north was to work for Jesus, her greatest model. Her love for Jesus was so great that she made the Lord her main example every time, and she became one of the most important spreaders of His knowledge that we know.

She worked in the spiritual plane with Dr. Bezerra and many doctors of his phalanx. She always walked with light spirits and she did everything for them.

After her death in 2003, she started working in Dr. Bezerra's phalanx acting in many work fronts, directly linked in the Spiritist Association. She is always present in the spiritual works developed in the spiritist association, she often communicate by medium.

Mrs. Maria's death was only a new address of work: If in the past she worked in the material plane, now she does her activities in the spiritual plane. The harvest is plentiful and her work is amazing. Her love for the others continue the same and her activities are developed with a lot of quality, simplicity and happiness.

Mrs. Maria is a real example of that song that says: “eu sei que não vou morrer porque de mim vai ficar, o mundo que eu construí o meu Rio Grande, meu lar” (“I know that I won't die because the world that I built will remain, my Rio Grande, my home”). She never died because she is always in the association works, and she built an image of love that fell with emotion everyone who listen to her. She still lives and works in the Spiritist Association, with the same love and dedication that she always had during her life. She evolved a lot in spirituality and she is always present to give advices and teaching the people of good will.
